The Domino Chick
Blog monkey
Monday, October 31st, 2005
I'm in Boston right now for a conference and I spent the day setting up servers and clients for lab machines. After a hard day's work, I needed some relaxation time. And who else could come to my rescue like the blogmonkey? He's been seen at Lotusphere and in Germany, hanging out and stealing people's drinks. So while I'm here I'm keeping track of his antics and posting them to my photoblog. I think his owner will be posting photos of his adventures as well. Stay tuned!

Travel roundup, vol. 2
Thursday, October 20th, 2005
Back in June, I wrote a post about where I'd been so far this year. Well, this past week, I hit a travel milestone - I attained Executive Platinum status on American for the first time. That means my butt has been in a seat on a plane for 100,000 miles so far this year. (My poor tuchis has actually been in an airplane seat about 20k more miles than that, because that number doesn't count award travel and a smattering of flights on other airlines.) To mark this occasion, I thought I'd list out where I've been since that last post. Hey, my mom reads this blog too, and she's always telling me she can't keep up with where I am and where I'm going, so here it is. As before, an asterisk denotes a city that I hadn't been to before.Santa Clara, CA
Albany, NY* (twice)
San Diego, CA
Sacramento, CA*
San Jose, CA
Columbus, GA* (thus completing the Columbus trifecta!)
Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN*
New York, NY (3x)
El Segundo, CA (doesn't technically count as travel, but I left my wallet there)
Vancouver, BC*
Boston/North Quincy*/Salem*, MA
Florham Park, NJ*
Sacramento, CA (current location)
Before the end of the year, I'll be going to Boston, MA; Basel, Switzerland; East Hanover, NJ; Nashville, TN; Rochester, NY; Watertown, NY; Grand Rapids, MI; and San Diego, CA. I actually have plans to (gasp!) update the ol' blog with travel photos, just to prove that sometimes I actually do go outside.

Something new for Lotusphere
Tuesday, October 18th, 2005
You may have noticed Rocky's posts asking you to guess what "kewl" new thing we've come up with for Lotusphere this year. Check out the clues:First clue: It is new for Lotusphere.
Second clue: It is a collaborative effort.
Since I'm involved in the planning and know what it is, I can't play the guessing game, but you should!
In other Lotusphere-related news, check out the information for the new Lotusphere Bootcamp track. Bootcamp will have the geekiest, most technical breakout sessions possible, as well as plenty of hands-on sessions to get you rrrrready to rrrrrrummmmmble. (erm. sorry. I couldn't resist.) I'm very excited about this track and heavily involved in choosing the content for it, so I'd like to hear what you think about Bootcamp. Leave a comment or shoot me an e-mail at kathleen AT kmnow DOT com (it redirects to my work e-mail.)
